Village Board Minutes

April15, 2024 (62)

A regular meeting of the Village Board was held April15, 2024 at 6:30 PM in the Firehouse, 16 Saratoga Ave.

Mayor Miller called the meeting to order &led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Trustee Bedell, Trustee Clark, Trustee Kirchhoff & Trustee Stollery were present.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Stollery, approved minutes of April8th, 2024 organizational meeting as typed.
Carried – 4 – 0

CORRESPONDENCE – none.

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS (AGENDA ITEMS ONLY)

Michael McKelligot, Oak Street, inquired what the proposed revisions were to the Procurement Policy listed under New Business.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

CLERK-TREASURER – Deputy Clerk-Treas Stautner was present, report for 4/15/2024 read & filed.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Stollery, approved payment of abstract #22 in the amount of: Payroll $45,573.72 (#1054); General $38,806.06 (#1055-1082); Water $34.15 (#1082); Sewer $106.15 (#1081-1082).
Carried – 4 – 0

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Chief Kelley was excused.

DPW/WATER/WWTP – Supt Lozier was present, updates in Wastewater Treatment Plant soundproofing & odor control were provided. 

BUILDING INSPECTOR – Insp Hepner was present, report for 4/15/2024 read & filed.

SARATOGA COUNTY SHERIFF – none.

OLD BUSINESS– none.

NEW BUSINES

Supt Lozier provided Palmer Avenueconstruction updates and stated that work was progressing as planned. An early spring start was beneficial to work crews involved.

Mayor Miller provided a timeline of updates detailing future phases of progression for both Gobel & Palmer Avenue.

Jennifer Michelle, Locust Ridge, outlined the Healthy Corinth Coalition Town Clean-up Day scheduled to take place on April 21, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Ms. Michelle stated that the event was a success in 2023 and invited Board members and public to attend. Ms. Michelle also highlighted the addition of a food truck on site for the event.

Resolution #84 approved, approve Jim Robbins to the Planning Board to fill vacant appointment ending June 2027.

Resolution #85 approved, approve Volunteer Fire Department Roster.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff, to approve Tim Shinn, Creative Caterer to use Fire Department Parking lot on Village property for food truck use April 21, 2024, if the Corinth Volunteer Fireman’s Association does not permit use of property on the condition that all necessary permits & insurance is received.

Resolution #86 approved, revise Procurement Policy as attached

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Maureen Kelly, Walnut Street, questioned the Memorial Day parade route changed due to Palmer Avenue construction. Trustee Clark stated that per the American Legion, the new route would begin at the Corinth Grange building, to West Mechanic Street and end at the Corinth Rural Cemetery. Ms. Kelly also asked if the side access road to Pagenstecher Park from River Street was accessible and free from construction materials. Supt Lozier stated that the area was accessible, the park was unlocked for the season and fence repairs were made.

BOARD COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Mayor Miller mentioned how he had seen a post regarding the damaged portion of fencing on a local Corinth Facebook page and commended Supt Lozier and his crew for their quick and efficient repairs.

Trustee Stollery mentioned that she had also seen the comment on Facebook regarding the damaged portion of Pagenstecher Park fencing.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Clark, that Board adjourn, 6:52 PM.
