Village Board Minutes

April 19, 2023 (54)

A regular meeting of the Village Board was held April 19, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Firehouse, 16 Saratoga Ave.

Deputy Mayor Brown called the meeting to order & led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Trustee Bedell, Trustee Coltrain, Trustee Halliday, and Deputy Mayor Brown were present. Mayor Pasquarell was excused.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Halliday, approved minutes of Organizational Meeting, April 3rd and Public Hearing and Regular Meeting, April 5th as typed.
Carried – 4 – 0

SPECIFIC REQUESTS – none.

CORRESPONDENCE

Image Committee, request for Summer Concert Series at Firemen’s Boat Dock.

The request was tabled as the Board had dock and public bathroom concerns.

Nancy Smith, request for sewer maintenance reimbursement.            

The request was tabled so that further information could be obtained from Supt. Lozier before making a decision regarding a reimbursement.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

CLERK-TREASURER – Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Stautner was present, report for April 19, 2023 read & filed.

Deputy Clerk-Treasurer also informed the Board that due to technical issues, accounts payable checks were not printed. An update would be provided as the issues were resolved.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Halliday, approved payment of abstract #21:  Payroll $37,126.56 (#1037)); General $ 46,597.69 (#1038-1064; 1071-1074); Water $3,785.72 (#1066; 1071-1074) Sewer $5,203.63 (#1039-1040; 1065; 1067-1069; 1071-1073) and Capital Projects $31,216.05 (#1070).
Carried – 4 – 0

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Chief Kelley was present.

DPW/WATER/WWTP – Supt Lozier was excused.

BUILDING INSPECTOR – Insp Hepner was present, report for 4/19/2023 read and filed.

OLD BUSINESS – Attorney Buettner detailed a new Proposed Fire Alarm Law and inquired if the Board had any comments before a public hearing was set for May 3, 2023.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Halliday, approved publication of notice of public hearing to be held May 3, 2023, at 6:00 PM in the Firehouse to present the proposed new Local Law 2 of 2023.
Carried – 4 – 0

NEW BUSINESS – none.

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS – none.

BOARD COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Trustee Halliday commented on Nancy Smith’s request for sewer maintenance reimbursement and stated that he would take into consideration Supt. Lozier’s recommendation on the request.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Halliday, that Board adjourn, 6:04 PM.
