Village Board Minutes

February 15, 2023 (39)

A regular meeting of the Village Board was held February 15, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Firehouse, 16 Saratoga Avenue.

Mayor Pasquarell called the meeting to order & led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Trustee Bedell, Trustee Brown, Trustee Coltrain & Trustee Halliday were present.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Brown, approved minutes of February 1, 2023 regular meeting as typed.
Carried – 4 – 0

CORRESPONDENCE

Town of Corinth Planning Board sent a Full Environmental Assessment Form for the proposed Foothills Builders major subdivision on Southern Main Street.

NYS Department of Health sent the 2023 Water Sampling Schedule.

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS (AGENDA ITEMS ONLY) – none.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

CLERK-TREASURER – Clerk-Treas Colson was present, report for 2/15/2023 read & filed.

Motion by Mayor Pasquarell, seconded by Trustee Bedell, approved payment of abstract #17 in the amount of: Payroll $36,644.99 (#0798); General $ 58,740.67 (#0799-0837; 0850-0852); Water $5,662.49 (#0831; 0838-0841; 0850-0851); and Sewer $8,012.48 (#0831; 0833; 0835-0837; 0840-0851).
Carried – 5 – 0

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Chief Kelley was excused.

DPW/WATER/WWTP – Supt Lozier was present.

Supt Lozier requested an executive session to discuss the work history & job performance of a particular individual.

BUILDING INSPECTOR – Insp Hepner was present, report for 2/15/2023 read & filed.

OLD BUSINESS – none.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion by Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Bedell, approved mayoral signature on contracts with Santore’s World Famous Fireworks for the Independence Day and Hometown Christmas firework displays; $8,500 & $3,250 respectively.
Carried – 4 – 0

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Jennifer Michelle, Healthy Corinth Coalition, updated the Board on her progress with bringing on-demand public transit to the area.   Ms. Michelle was able to speak with CDTA staff to discuss data gathered through the survey.  Ms. Michelle also clarified that the service would not be funded through an increase in local taxes, but would be part of the amount Saratoga County already pays CDTA.

BOARD COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS – none.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Coltrain, that Board adjourn to executive session as requested by Supt Lozier to discuss the work history & job performance of a particular individual, 6:04PM.
Carried – 4 – 0

At 6:20 PM the Board reconvened with no action taken in executive session.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Bedell, that Board adjourn, 6:20 PM.
