Village Board Minutes

March 10, 2021 (40)

A special meeting of the Village Board was held March 10, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Firehouse, 16 Saratoga Ave.

Mayor Pasquarell called the meeting to order.

Roll Call: Trustee Bedell, Trustee Miller & Trustee Mulligan were present.  Trustee Halliday was excused.

NEW BUSINESS

Supt Lozier presented his requests for the 2021/2022 budget year.  Proposed equipment purchases include two Ford F550s with dump and plow attachments.  Street reconstruction projects include Second Street from Oak to Walnut as well as the one-way portion of Mill Street which will include sewer replacement.  DPW will also plans to install a new sewer lateral on Center St.  Replacement of the decorative lighting polls in the downtown business district is also included in this budget.  A $100,000 contribution to reserves is requested.

At 6:25 PM, Supt Lozier was excused.

Chief Kelley presented the Fire Dept request for the 2021/2022 budget year.  Proposed equipment purchases include replacement of 8 air packs, replacement of a 2006 ATV, AEDs and thermal imaging cameras.  Refurbishing of a 2011 American LeFrance fire truck is also requested, as well as 12 new sets of turnout gear.  A $150,000 contribution to reserves is requested.

At 7:42 PM, Chief Kelley was excused.

The Board discussed numerous items in the general budget including a plan to reopen the Beach and the Park, but not hold the youth fieldtrip program until the virus situation has improved.  The Board also intends to include firework displays in this budget.

Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by Trustee Miller, that Board adjourn, 8:33 PM.
