A special meeting of the Village Board was held November 5, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall, 244 Main Street.

Mayor Morreale called the meeting to order.

Roll Call: Trustee Denno, Trustee Enekes, Trustee Halliday and Trustee Saunders were present.

Trustee Denno gave the Board a brief background on the Comprehensive Master Plan in place for the Village and suggested the ten-year-old plan should be updated.  Trustee Denno introduced Jim Martin from the LA Group; the LA Group worked on the last master plan.

Jim Martin explained to the Board that an updated plan would be a quicker development process than the initial plan.  A local committee would be involved in the process as well as community input.  The committee would likely meet every 4 to 6 weeks, the entire process is estimated to take one year.  Any changes to the current zoning would be made after the plan completion.  Mr. Martin also stressed the need to band with other local northern communities sharing the purpose of stimulating growth and development.  Mr. Martin discussed potential plans specific to the IP former mill property and made some suggestions for possible Planned Unit Development (PUD) District creation.   Board members discussed specific aspects they would like to include in the planning process, such as senior housing.  Mr. Martin will prepare and submit a scope of services to the Board for their review.

Motion by Trustee Enekes, seconded by Trustee Saunders that Board adjourn, 7:25 PM.
