A special meeting of the Village Board was held April 13, 2009 at 4:30 PM in the Village Hall, 244 Main St.

Roll Call: Trustees Denno, Enekes and Lescault.  Trustee Densmore was excused.
Also Present: Clerk/Treas Colson, Chief Kelley, Asst Chief Granger, and Asst Chief Pasquarell.

The Board discussed the proposed budget extensively.  Clerk/Treas Colson explained different health care plan options to the Board.  Chief Kelley & Asst Chief Granger spoke about the costs of delaying the purchase of a new fire truck to replace the 1984 truck.

Mayor Winslow read an email from Trustee Densmore expressing hesitation about placing $100,000 in fire equipment reserves.  Trustee Enekes also questioned the timing of the increase to reserves citing overall economic concerns for Village residents.  Trustees Denno & Lescault, along with Mayor Winslow, expressed their support of the $100,000 equipment reserve in order to purchase the truck citing the importance of replacing outdated equipment and the potential costs of delaying the purchase.

The consensus of the Board was to file the current proposed budget, with a tax rate of $5.86 per $1,000, with the Constitutional Tax Limits Office of the State Comptroller.  Any changes to the budget would affect fund balance instead of the tax rate.

Motion by Trustee Lescault, seconded by Trustee Denno that Board adjourn, 5:00 PM.
