September 26, 2007 (33)

A special meeting of the Village Board was held September 26, 2007, 6:00 PM in the firehouse, 16 Saratoga Ave.

NEW BUSINESS

Representatives from Philmet were present to announce that Philmet would not be ready to submit a Restore NY application for this round of grants.  John McManus, Philmet attorney, thanked the Board of Trustees for bringing the grant opportunity to their attention, but stated they had run out of time to complete the engineering and financial proposals needed for the application.  Philmet is now planning to build a new building on the IP site to house the Plasticware operation and apply for funding from the next round of Restore NY grants to rehabilitate the existing building for additional tenants.

Mayor Winslow stated the Board was disappointed they could not submit an application this year.  The mayor thanked the public and local public officials for their support of the application and thanked Philmet’s representatives for coming to the meeting.

Mayor Winslow requested an executive session to discuss matters relating to the employment of an individual.
