Village Board Minutes March 16, 2026 (54) A special meeting of the Village Board, budget workshop, was held March 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall, 244 Main Street. Roll Call: Trustee Bedell, Trustee Clark & Trustee Stollery were present. Trustee Kirchhoff was excused. DPW Supt Lozier presented his budget requests for the 2026/2027 budget to the Board. Proposed equipment purchases include a jackhammer attachment for the John Deere excavator for $13,000 and the possible purchase of a skidsteer for $110,000. Proposed projects include the restoration of Park Drive and minor sewer upgrades and restoration of Dunn Ave. DPW will also assist contractors with the Heath St & Hill Ave project. The Board discussed potential installation of a gate at the DPW garage as well as cameras at the garage, wellhouse and WWTP. Supt Lozier and the Board also discussed logistics of expanding the pole barn at the garage and a possible installation of a cold storage building to house any necessary equipment that may need to be removed from 400 Mill St. Supt Lozier reviewed budgets for the water & sewer funds with no significant changes other than increases in utilities, insurance, and debt services. At 6:40 PM Supt Lozier was excused. Chief Granger arrived at 6:40 PM and presented budget requests including purchase of turnout gear, replacement of hydraulic equipment, an underwater drone for SCUBA, rescue litter for backwoods and mountain rescues, and the continued replacement of outdated hose. Chief Granger also detailed the need for reserve funding to replace ETA-215 and SCBA air packs. Chief Granger requested a $600,000 contribution to reserves to make up for inadequate funding over the last three years. Chief Granger was excused at 7:45 PM. Clerk-Treas Colson reviewed the overall budget with the Board; Village has not yet received quotations for general liability and property insurance renewal, or the special protection contract with the Saratoga County Sheriff. There are significant increases in health insurance and audit costs as well as increased projectedutility costs. The Board gave Clerk-Treas Colson input on changes to several budget items and expressed their goal of attempting to avoid anymajor increase in the tax rate and water/sewer rates. The Board set the next budget workshop meeting for March 24 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall. Motion by Trustee Bedell, seconded by
