Village Board Minutes

April 23, 2008 (83)

A special meeting of the Village Board was held April 23, 2008 at 8:30 AM in the Village Hall, 260 Main St.

Mayor Winslow called the meeting to order.

Roll Call: Trustees Denno & Densmore were present.  Trustees Enekes & Lescault were excused.
Also Present: Treas Fuller & Clerk Colson

OLD BUSINESS

Resolution #131 approved adoption of 2008/2009 budget.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion by Trustee Denno, seconded by Trustee Densmore to publish advertisement in the Pennysaver at a later date requesting Village resident volunteers for a shared services/consolidation study committee.
Carried – 3 – 0

Motion by Trustee Denno, seconded by Trustee Densmore to publish joint Village/Town letter re: the shared services/consolidation committee in a future edition of the Pennysaver.
Carried – 3 - 0

The Board discussed qualifications and guidelines for advertising for the upcoming vacancy in the treasurer’s position.  The Board tabled the publication of an advertisement until there is further discussion.

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Alicia Beven appeared before the Board to ask for their support with a fundraising event sponsored by The Church of the Nations a Walter Walk for Kenya.  The Church of the Nations has donated all of the back office support for the event, which is to be held Saturday May 17, 2008.  The participants wish to start at Corinth Beach to fill water containers and carry them up to Pagenstecher Park to illustrate the lengths that must be traversed by residents of Kenya in order to obtain clean water.  The Hope for Kenya organization plans to hold a barbecue at the park at the end of the event.

Resolution #132 approved permission for Hope for Kenya to conduct fundraiser in Pagenstecher Park at 3:00 PM Saturday May 17, 2008.

BOARD COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS – none.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Trustee Denno, seconded by Trustee Densmore that Board adjourn, 9:00 AM.
