A special budget workshop meeting of the Village Board was held January 14, 2008 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall, 260 Main St.

Roll Call: Trustees Densmore & Lescault were present.  Trustee Denno was excused & Trustee Enekes was absent.
Also Present:  Supt Lozier, Treas Fuller & Clerk Colson.

Treas Fuller presented the Board with preliminary worksheets for the 2008/2009 budget.  The worksheets reflected a 3% increase in salaries, a 3% increase in taxes, a $12 increase in water rents and a $12 increase in sewer rents.  The worksheets projected using $117,000 from fund balance; the 2007/2008 budget used $255,000 from fund balance.  These numbers are a starting point for the Board to begin the budget process, any major DPW projects have not been determined or figured in yet, nor have equipment purchases.  Significant savings are projected for health insurance due to a change made in the retirees’ health plan and the abolition of the police department.  The Board discussed the worksheets in detail and Supt Lozier outlined a few items that will need to be considered for the budget.

Motion by Trustee Lescault, seconded by Trustee Densmore that Board adjourn, 7:10 PM.
