Village of Corinth

   

The Department of Public Works (DPW), dating back to 1931, has become a major asset and service to the taxpayers of the Village of Corinth. The DPW has three major components; Highway, Water and Sewer Departments. All fall under the supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works. The Village employs 13 full time men between the three departments. Below is a brief description of these departments.

Highway Dept.

Year round maintenance and improvements on;

  • 17.1 miles of streets and alleyways
  • Sidewalks and curbing
  • Storm drains and piping
  • Seasonal brush and leaf removal (Spring & Fall)
  • Public grounds, parks and buildings
  • Plowing and snow removal (Streets, alleys, sidewalks & Village owned properties)
  • Assist with excavation for Water and Sewer Departments
  • Numerous seasonal work

Water Dept. (6 licensed operators)

Year round maintenance and improvements on;

  • Water Treatment Plant/Well House/Pump House
  • 500,000 gal. Water Storage Tank
  • 25+ miles of water pipe
  • Hydrants & valves
  • Operators must obtain 30 credit hours every 3 years to maintain there license

Sewer Dept. (2 licensed operators)

Year round maintenance and improvements on;

  • Waste Water Treatment Plant
  • 2 pumping stations
  • 20+ miles of sewer mains & manholes
  • Operators must obtain 30 credit hours every 3 years to maintain there license
